8 Things You Shouldn’t Miss Out On During Your Senior Year

If there is one thing that countless college students say, it’s that senior year flies by.

The last thing you want is to sit with regrets about things you could’ve and should’ve done more of during that time.

Here are a few things you should definitely add to your senior year to-do list.

  1. Spend more time with family. If you will be moving out to attend college, you should aim to spend more time with your family. You don’t realize how much you will miss them until they’re not in the other room anymore.
  2. Apply for more scholarships. College tuition fees are generally sky-high, so it doesn’t hurt to apply for a few scholarships during your senior year. Yes, it takes up some extra time, but you could end up saving a lot of money.
  3. Book the senior photo session. You might not think you need it but you’re going to love looking back on one of the most important years in your life. With the help of the right photographer, you can capture your unique style and talents. Plus, you’ll have some amazing photos to share online.
  4. Don’t turn down every invite. You will be working hard during your senior year, but this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have any fun. It’s important to set some time aside for your friends – these are moments and memories you will treasure forever.
  5. Take more trips to campuses. If you already have your heart set on a specific college (or two), that’s great, but make a point of visiting the campuses too. Sometimes, what you thought you could expect isn’t the reality.
  6. Join in at school. If your school has a lot of activities on offer, make this the year that you join in more often. Not only do you get to make new friends, but you may discover a new passion or hobby along the way. If your school doesn’t offer anything that interests you, look at joining a club or trying a new hobby outside of school.
  7. Take some easier classes. The classes that you think are super important now may not be when it comes to your college and scholarship applications. Know that you don’t need to only select classes that are difficult and will only stress you out. Look at all your options.
  8. Develop better study habits. Once you get to college, it really helps if you have some good study techniques under your belt. This way, the amount of work won’t feel as overwhelming.

In closing, you don’t get to relive your senior year, so sit down and decide how you’re going to make the most of it.
