7 Questions You Should Ask Before You Get Your Senior Pictures Taken

If you're a high school senior, it's time to start thinking about your senior pictures. For many students, this is a fun but daunting task. How do you choose the right photographer? What should you wear? How do you pose for the perfect photo?

To help make the process a little easier, here are seven questions to ask before you get your senior pictures taken:

  1. What should I know about choosing a photographer?

When it comes to choosing a photographer for your high school senior photos, it's important to find someone who you feel comfortable with and who understands your vision. Look for someone who has a lot of experience photographing high school seniors.  Remember to ask to see examples of their work.

  1. What style of photography do you prefer?

There are a variety of different styles to choose from, so be sure to pick one that matches your personality. Some popular options include traditional portraits, editorial shots, and creative compositions.

  1. What type of setting will be used?

Some photographers prefer to take outdoor photos while others use studio setups. If you have a specific location in mind, be sure to mention it when booking your session.

  1. Will you be allowed to choose your own clothing and props?

It's important to feel comfortable in what you're wearing for your photos, so be sure to check with the photographer beforehand about their clothing restrictions. Props can also add an extra level of personality to your photos, so bring along anything that reflects your interests or hobbies.

  1. Will the photographer be editing the photos?

Not all photographers offer photo editing as part of their services, so be sure to ask if it's something you're interested in. Photo editing can include things like cropping, lighting adjustments, and even adding special effects.

  1. What is included in the session fee?

Some photographers charge by the hour, while others charge a flat rate for sessions. Be sure to find out what's included in the session fee so there are no surprises later on.

  1. How will the photos be delivered?

This is another question that varies from photographer to photographer. Some will give you digital copies of all the photos they take, while others may only offer a select number of images from the session. Ask about their delivery method and make sure you're comfortable with it before booking your session.

Senior photos are a rite of passage for high school students, and it's important to choose the right photographer to capture this moment in time. By asking the right questions, you can be sure that you're making the best decision for your unique needs.

Your photographer will have some ideas about good locations to shoot, but feel free to suggest your own favorite spots.
