Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the senior portrait experience, from planning your session to choosing the artwork you'll treasure for years to come.
Have Questions?
That's completely normal.
A senior portrait experience is an investment in one of the biggest milestones in your child's life. You should feel completely comfortable knowing what to expect before you book.
Your Senior Session
What makes a Behind the Lens senior session different?
Your senior session is designed specifically around your senior—not around a standard package or a stopwatch.
We take time to understand their personality, interests, style, activities, and the things that make them unique. From there, we create a session that reflects who they are.
How long does a senior session take?
Sessions are not designed around a strict time limit. The goal is to create the images your senior wants rather than rushing through a predetermined number of minutes.
The exact experience is planned around your senior and the Collection selected.
How many outfits can my senior bring?
Multiple outfits are encouraged. Wardrobe changes are one of the best ways to create variety throughout a senior session.
We'll discuss wardrobe during the planning process and help determine which looks will photograph best.
Can we use more than one location?
Absolutely. Locations are selected based on your senior's personality, interests, and the overall vision for the session.
Multiple locations can be incorporated when they make sense for the session.
What if my senior is uncomfortable in front of the camera?
That's extremely common.
Your senior does not need to know how to pose or know what to do in front of the camera. I'll provide direction throughout the session while creating an environment where they can relax and be themselves.
Before the Session
How do we prepare for the session?
Once your session is booked, you'll receive information to help prepare for the experience.
We'll discuss wardrobe, locations, personal interests, activities, and any ideas your senior may have.
Do you provide a senior questionnaire?
Yes. The questionnaire helps me learn more about your senior before we ever pick up the camera.
Their answers help shape the locations, wardrobe, concepts, and overall direction of the session.
Can we incorporate sports, hobbies, or activities?
Absolutely.
If an activity is an important part of your senior's life, incorporating it into their portraits can make the session much more personal and meaningful.
Pricing & Collections
What is the minimum investment?
Our minimum finished-artwork investment is $500.
This ensures that every senior portrait experience results in professionally produced artwork rather than simply a collection of Digital Images sitting on a computer or phone.
A session fee, when applicable, is separate from the finished-artwork investment.
What are your Senior Portrait Collections?
We offer three Collections designed to provide different levels of finished artwork and Digital Image options.
Keepsake Collection — $695
Includes a 6×6 Album, 11×14 Wall Art, and 6 Signature Prints.
Heirloom Collection — $1,495
Includes a 10×10 Album or 10-Print Folio Box, 20×24 Wall Art, and 10 Signature Prints.
Signature Heirloom Collection — $2,495
Includes a 10×10 Album or 10-Print Folio Box, an 8×8 Companion Album, 24×36 Wall Art, and 16 Signature Prints.
The Signature Heirloom Collection represents our most complete senior portrait experience.
Why do you focus on printed portraits instead of offering a digital-only package?
Because we believe senior portraits deserve to exist somewhere other than a computer or phone.
Printed portraits become part of your home and your family's history. They're the photographs you see every day, share with grandparents, and eventually pass down.
Our Collections are therefore built around finished artwork first, with Digital Images available as part of select options and purchases.
Digital Files
Are Digital Images included in the Collections?
Digital Images are available separately or as part of qualifying artwork options and Collections.
Our approach is intentionally print-focused, so we encourage families to select the Collection that provides the combination of finished artwork and Digital Images that best fits their needs.
Can I purchase Digital Images separately?
Yes. Digital Images are available in three options:
5 Digital Images — $325
10 Digital Images — $550
20 Digital Images — $900
Digital Images are professionally edited and delivered as high-resolution files.

Choosing Your Favorites
What happens after the session?
After your senior session, your photographs will be carefully reviewed and prepared for your Proofing Appointment.
During this appointment, you'll have the opportunity to view the images from your session and choose the photographs you want to have fully edited and finished.
This is an important part of the experience because the images you select at your Proofing Appointment are the images that will receive the final professional editing.
What is a Proofing Appointment?
Your Proofing Appointment is where you'll view the photographs from your session and make your final image selections.
We'll take the time to look through your images together and help you select the photographs that best represent your senior and the story you want to preserve.
Once your selections are made, those chosen images move forward to the final editing process.
The proofing images are not the final finished photographs. Final retouching, color correction, and professional finishing are completed only on the images you select.
When do we choose our artwork?
Your Proofing Appointment is also an opportunity to discuss the artwork you'd like to create from your selected images.
We'll help you determine which photographs are best suited for your Wall Art, Albums, Signature Prints, or Folio Boxes.
The goal is to make sure your finished artwork reflects the photographs and products that are most meaningful to your family.
What happens after I select my images?
Once your image selections have been made, we begin the final editing process.
Each selected photograph is individually finished and prepared for the artwork you've chosen.
Your final photographs are then professionally produced as the printed artwork and/or Digital Images included with your purchase.
Only the images selected during the Proofing Appointment are fully edited and delivered as finished photographs.
Do we have to decide on artwork before the session?
No. You don't need to know exactly what you want before your session.
We'll discuss your artwork options during the planning process, and your Proofing Appointment gives you the opportunity to make your final selections based on the photographs you love most.
Can we purchase additional artwork after choosing a Collection?
Yes. Collection clients can add additional artwork and products to their order.
Collection clients also receive preferred pricing on qualifying additional artwork, making it possible to expand their order while maintaining the value of their chosen Collection.
Reserving Your Session
How far in advance should we book?
Senior sessions are limited so that each senior receives a personalized experience.
We recommend reaching out early, particularly for popular months and dates surrounding graduation.
How do we book?
Start by contacting us through the inquiry form. We'll learn a little about your senior, answer your questions, and help you determine the best next step.
Because our sessions are limited, contacting us early is the best way to secure your preferred timing.
Where are senior sessions photographed?
Senior sessions are photographed throughout the Las Vegas area and at locations selected specifically for your senior and the vision for their session.
Some locations, parks, venues, or private properties may require a photography permit or location fee. When applicable, these fees are additional to your session or Collection investment and are the responsibility of the client.
If you have a specific location in mind, please let us know when you inquire. We can help determine whether a permit or additional location fee is required and provide the applicable details before your session is booked.
Choose the Experience That's Right for You
Our Collections are thoughtfully designed to combine the products families love most while providing considerably greater value than purchasing the individual products separately.
