Should You Include Your Mom in Your Senior Photos?

If you have a special bond with your mom, you may be wondering just how involved she should be in your senior photoshoot.

Most moms are involved with finding a photographer, planning the shoot, and may even be there for support on the day. However, many teens are also choosing to include their moms in a few of their photos because of the integral role she has played in their lives. 

So, if you are wondering whether this is the right choice for you, here are a few reasons why you should do it. 

  • It documents your relationship.

    Once you move away from home, there will be fewer chances for you to capture special moments with your mom. Plus, once you get older, you will want to have these photos to look back on. 

  • The experience is more memorable.

    This is an important year for you and chances are your mom has played a key role in getting you to this point. By including your mom in this experience, you’re making it even more special and memorable. Even if you only include her in a few of your photos, it can make all the difference. 

  • It’s a chance to bond.

    By including your mom in every stage of your senior photo session, you get to have a little one-on-one time. From getting your hair done together to shopping for a new outfit, this is the perfect opportunity to connect and build new memories before you head off to college, work, or an international adventure.

  • Make it a surprise.

    Your mom is probably not expecting to be included in some of your senior photos, so why not make it a surprise for her? Just be sure to give her some time to choose an outfit and get her hair and makeup done.

Don’t forget to let your photographer know whether you will be including mom in some (or all) of your photos so that they can plan accordingly.
